Phalaborwa is situated in the Limpopo Lowveld, at the central entrance gate to the Kruger National Park, now part of the Great Limpopo Trans Frontier Peace Park, traversing the Limpopo River into Zimbabwe and over the Lebombo Mountains into Mozambique, eventually to reach the Indian Ocean.
